Weyerhaeuser PACIFIC RIM BONSAI COLLECTlON
ANNOUNCES 1998 SCHEDULE

The Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection is an outdoor museum of living art, featuring more than fifty outstanding bonsai elegantly displayed in a beautiful woodland setting.

Bonsai from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Canada and the United States grace the tropical conservatory and outdoor exhibit area.

The bonsai collection is owned and operated by Weyerhaeuser Company and is open free of charge.

The neighboring Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (open by admission) features 22 acres of rhododendrons, as well as alpine and pond gardens, a plant sales pavilion and a gift shop.

Hours:
June through February, 11 am - 4 pm; closed Thursday and Fridays.
March through May, 10 am 4 pm; closed Thursdays.

LECTURE SERIES

Introductory bonsai lectures are held alternate Sundays at 1 pm at Weyerhaeuser's Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection.


** On marked days, audience members are invited to bring a tree for styling suggestions.

2nd Saturday Lectures: one Saturday per month, June 13 through September 12 at 1:00 p.m.

From the Curator's Collection - May 15 through June 3, 1998
A selection of favorite trees from the Pacific Rim curator's personal collection.


The Tools of the Trade - September 5 through September 23, 1998
An exhibit of the special tools used in the shaping and training of bonsai.

Guided Tours
Each Sunday at noon; no charge, reservations not required.
Please request tour at the Rhododendron Garden Shop.

Group Tours
For groups of 10 or more by appointment, no charge.

Directions:
The Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection is located in Seattle, Washington. It shares a site with the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden on Weyerhaeuser's Corporate Campus on Federal Way. Take exit 143 off I-5 south from Seattle, turn East onto 320th street and proceed to Weyerhaeuser Way S., turn Right onto Weyerhauser Way S. and follow Weyerhaeuser signs to Bonsai and Rhododendron gardens.
