CARE GUIDE: Mugho Mughis, Mugho Pine
Copyright ©1996 Pine Garden Bonsai

The Mountain Pine is an exemplary bonsai. It has small needles; new buds form on old wood Pines like it dry and can stand full sun; they can withstand the cold, although at temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, their roots need to be protected.

Give Pines lots of direct sunlight; fertilize moderately n order to keep the needles small with slow release fertilizer or with Plant StixTM

Water thoroughly when you water, but allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Pines do not like wet feet. They need a soil that drains thoroughly.

Use "Miracid"TM to maintain an acid environment for Pines; follow the instructions on the package.

before they start to grow. Pot them between May and June.

Go to our best in tools, containers, and stock.
