Improving RAZR Address Book

David Pogue wrote on how to improve the Motorola RAZR’s Address Book [registration required]. You change the settings to View By Primary Contacts, which consolidates multiple numbers into one entry (which you can cycle through with the right-arrow key).

David did miss one problem: the RAZR’s Address Book doesn’t actually save addresses! This is a huge problem for me, since I no longer have a device to carry with all my contact information. (I could do this with my Samsung i500, which ran Palm software.) I’d never enter an address with a phone, but I don’t need to, since I can easily synchronize with the Mac OS X Address Book.
